The on-demand solution is channel based solution that can be navigated through two ways; the telephone system or through the pillow speaker. Both can be done from the patient’s bedside. The channel based option leverages the hospital’s existing cable infrastructure, which allows for easy setup and integration. The system also offers one or more scheduled play channels that focus on relaxation, general health, nutrition, or wellness content provided by the hospital.
The enhanced network based solution is navigated through the pillow speaker. This system allows for two-way communication between the patient and staff. There are no usage limitations and the solution is 100% scalable. The content can be delivered via RF over coax or network cabling utilizing Z-Band technology. Also, Electronic Health Record (EHR) integration is available with this Journey option.
Both solutions allow for staff to assign videos to a patient’s room and monitor usage at the patient level. The content is accessible in the hospitals, clinics or even in their homes. October is Health Literacy Month! What a season the Julington Creek Blue Thunder All Stars had this summer. After an amazing regular season, the team made it to the state championship and…WON! “This is Mikey Romano I play centerfield for the Julington Creek Blue Thunder All Stars team that Mr. Steve and MDM sponsored. This summer we were 23-1 and won the State Championship, woo hoo! It was so much fun for me and my team to go to Palm Beach and stay in a real neat hotel that had a waterfall inside of it. We stayed there almost a whole week. It rained every day but we had a great time, and the best part was winning the State Championship. We won the semi finals 6-1 and the Championship 13-0. We were all crying happy tears. Free Screenings and Testing to Be Provided by Baptist Health Professionals
Heart disease is the number-one killer of women in America, affecting one out of every four women. Baptist Health has partnered with the Sister to Sister Foundation for four years in organizing a free yearly Heart Health Fair for our community. Though Sister to Sister will not be involved this year, Baptist Health is continuing this important service with the newly created Women’s Heart Connection, a health fair that will test, screen and educate women about heart health.
The Women’s Heart Connection, a free screening and health fair presented by Baptist Health, will take place on Saturday, April 16, 2011, from 9 am until 4 pm at the Jacksonville Public Library Downtown.
This event will offer free heart disease screenings with immediate results and counseling; medical, nutrition and stress-reduction experts; and cooking and fitness demonstrations.
A Bone Density Risk Assessment, pulse oximetry test (related to sleep disorders) and Walking/Running Shoe Clinic also will be offered at the event, free of charge.
